Mutiny Bikes Hits Texas

Every time I see great footage coming from the SLR’s that Canon has on the market these days, it pushes me a little closer to wanting one. This video, shot mostly with the 5D, and maybe a few shots with a 7D is pretty awesome. The guys from Mutiny Bikes hit the road and landed in Dallas & Fort Worth, Texas to capture this great footage. You’ll notice some very subtle dolly shots, that just put the icing on the cake, great color, and great content, you can check out the process here.

I’ve posted a couple things from Brain Farm within the past month or so, and I’ve got to tell you, I just can’t get enough. Specializing in aerial and HD cinema, these guys have put together the two best snowboarding films, “That’s It, That’s All, and soon to come, “The Art of Flight”. Aside from snowboarding films, they’ve done some great work for Visa, and other companies, you can view more of their stuff here.

Last week I posted a trailer on a snowboarding film called “The Art of Flight” by Brain Farm, to be released in the fall of 2011. It’s closest competitor, “That’s It, That’s All” was also mentioned and I figured it deserved it’s glory as well. Brain Farm is one of my favorite production houses and I’m very impressed with both of these films. I’m looking forward to see where progression will take these guys.

Snowboarding FIlm

Growing up in Alaska, there was no way I wasn’t going to fall in love with snowboarding. It has been my favorite sport for almost a decade now, and I’m pretty bummed that I’m not able to ride like I used to. I find myself indulging more and more in great snowboarding films as the winter months are upon us.

Snowboarding films have come a long way with new technology and much bigger budgets. Although to this day is That’s It, That’s All is my favorite snowboarding film, coming this fall, it looks like there will be some competition with the release of The Art of Flight. With most of the same sponsors, I’m really anxious to see what The Art of Flight will bring to the table.

While browsing through Vimeo, I came across this awesome video from Raoul Paulet. He describes this film as “a metaphorical short film about bikes, movement, freedom and love. He later goes on to say, “speed is like curiosity”. This is a great little short film, you can read more about it here.

Steb Schinerer Filming Himself

Stebs Schinerer of Paper Fortress Films is a film enthusiast who also has a great passion for riding bikes. I stumbled across these videos while surfing through vimeo. I love these videos for the simple fact that they are self made. I could imagine the time that was spent putting these awesome videos together, and Steb just did an awesome job.
